Common Baxi Platinum Faults
Diverter Valve Failure
The most common repair on Baxi Platinum boilers of eight or more years. The diverter valve seals degrade and the valve loses the ability to fully direct flow between the heating and hot water circuits. You get heating when only hot water is called for, or poor hot water delivery when the heating is running. We carry diverter valve assemblies for all Platinum outputs and replace them on the first visit in the large majority of cases.
E131 — Fan Fault
Fan faults on the Baxi Platinum become more common from around ten years. The fan runs before ignition to pre-purge the heat exchanger. If it does not reach the correct speed, the boiler will not attempt to light. We carry fans for the main Platinum outputs and replace them on the first visit.
E01 — Ignition Lockout
Ignition faults on Platinum boilers not serviced regularly. Electrode replacement resolves the large majority of E01 faults on the Platinum range. We carry the correct electrode for all Platinum outputs.
