Weather Compensation

Weather compensation adjusts the temperature of the water circulating through your radiators based on how cold it is outside. On a mild autumn day the boiler produces lower temperature water and runs for longer at a lower modulation. On the coldest days it ramps up to full output. This prevents the radiators from getting uncomfortably hot and the boiler from short cycling, both of which waste energy. Properly set up weather compensation can reduce gas bills by ten to fifteen percent compared to a fixed flow temperature setup.

sensoCOMFORT and sensoAPP

The ecoTEC Exclusive is designed to work with Vaillant’s own smart thermostat system. The sensoCOMFORT controller works with the weather compensation sensor to optimise the boiler’s operation automatically. The sensoAPP allows control from a smartphone. Common ecoTEC Exclusive Faults
