Worcester Bosch Greenstar i and Si — London Repair Specialist

The Worcester Bosch Greenstar i range (25i, 30i, 35i, 40i) and the Si range (25Si, 30Si, 35Si) were the standard and mid range combi boilers from Worcester Bosch throughout the 2010s. They replaced the Greenstar Junior as the workhorse of the Worcester Bosch residential range and were installed in very large numbers across London in new builds, conversions and replacement projects. These boilers are now between five and fifteen years old, and repairs on the older units within the range are increasingly common. Your local Worcester Bosch specialist at 247 Plumber London attends Greenstar i and Si breakdowns across London daily.

Common Greenstar i and Si Faults

EA 227 — Ignition Fault

The most common fault code on the Greenstar i and Si in London. Electrode wear is the primary cause on boilers over five to six years old without regular servicing. We carry ignition electrodes and leads for all i and Si outputs. Most EA 227 repairs are completed on the first visit.

2970 — Fan Fault

Fan failures on Greenstar i boilers from around ten years old. The fan pre-purges the heat exchanger before ignition. A boiler that clicks but never lights, or one that is making an unusual noise on startup, often has a fan issue. Fan replacement resolves this.

9.C.4 — Frozen Condensate

Common winter callout in London. Thaw the external condensate pipe with warm water and reset. We can insulate it to prevent recurrence.

Diverter Valve Issues

On Greenstar i boilers of eight or more years, the diverter valve can begin to wear and stick, causing the familiar issue of heating running when only hot water is needed or vice versa. We carry diverter valve assemblies for all i and Si outputs.
