Common Greenstar Life Faults

EA 227 — Ignition Fault

The ignition fault is the most common callout on Greenstar Life boilers outside of warranty. The boiler attempts to ignite and the flame sensor does not confirm ignition within the expected window. This is almost always an ignition electrode or lead issue. We carry these parts for all Life outputs and replace them on the first visit in the large majority of cases.

9.C.4 — Frozen Condensate Pipe

The Greenstar Life’s condensate pipe can freeze in cold London winters. The 9.C.4 code appears and the boiler shuts down. Thaw the external condensate pipe with warm water and reset. If this keeps happening, the pipe needs insulating. We can insulate it during any service visit.

C6 — Low System Pressure

Low system pressure lockout on the Greenstar Life. Repressurise using the filling loop under the boiler to 1.2 to 1.5 bar and reset. Recurring pressure loss indicates a system leak that needs finding.

Greenstar Life — 7 Year Warranty and Servicing

The 7 year warranty on the Greenstar Life requires installation by a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer and annual servicing to remain valid. We register installations correctly and service Life boilers to the Worcester Bosch specification annually. We provide written service records for warranty purposes.
